How to Fix QuickBooks Error 1618? | Qbssolved

Error 1618 is an installation error in QuickBooks. This error pops up when you try to install QuickBooks in your system. It may also arise when there is more than one window installer.


 What causes Error 1618?

  • Software installation went corrupted. 
  • Window registry got corrupted. 
  • Infected QB related files or window system files. 
  • QB related program files were deleted by some malicious program. 



What can be done to fix error 1618?

By updating the window installer version:

  • Login as admin and search for window staller updates. 
  • Hover to my computer and C:\WINDOWS\system32 needs to be opened and make a right click on the exe file. 
  • Next, select properties and open the version.
  • If updates are available, then update your software. 



By creating a backup for the windows registry:

  • Open run command from the start menu.
  • Type regedit, and click OK, reach to my computer and open ‘file menu and export’.
  • Save the backup and delete the keys. 



By closing the MSIEXEC.EXE running in the background. 

  • Reach to the task manager and select the processes tab. 
  •  Choose MSIEXEC.EXE and click on END.
  • Close the task manager and install QuickBooks desktop.

 

By installing a diagnostic tool.

  • Download the QuickBooks tool hub file and save it. 
  • Now, open it from the saved location and install it. 
  • Once installed, run the program.
  • This will fix all the installation issues. 

 

By reinstalling the MS runtime libraries via the MS visual C++ redistributable package. 



  • Select the MS visual C++2008 redistributable package after downloading  MS visual C++ package. 
  • Save these packages and rename the package as vcreist_x86.exe.
  • Reboot once.
