How to Fix QuickBooks Payroll Error PS033?
When you try to download the payroll update or open the company file, you may see a message- “QuickBooks can’t read your payroll setup files. [Error PS033]”.
This error is caused usually due to damaged
CPS folders.
Some of the reasons for occurrence for PS033
error are:
- QuickBooks data is
damaged.
- Service key may be incorrect.
- Employee identification number may be wrong.
- Incorrect company files PSID.
- The Windows version is not compatible with
QuickBooks.
- Payroll subscription is inactive.
How can you fix PS033 error?
Method 1:
By downloading the latest payroll tax table from
the employees section of QuickBooks and selecting payroll updates.
Choose the option of Update.
Method 2:
By renaming the QuickBooks CPS folder, for this
you need to locate the folder in - C:\Program
Files\Intuit\QuickBooks\20QQ\Components\payroll\CPS.
And then rename the CPS folder to CPSOLD.
Method 3:
If you disable your user account control from the control panel, this error will be fixed.
Method 4:
You can fix this error by restarting and troubleshooting in the safe mode and then run a ‘Verify and rebuilding Data’ and then you also need to update the QuickBooks to the latest version.
